Guises of Witches and Ghouls, Halloween part 2

Today's part will cover the origins and reasons for disguises during Halloween.

Not many people realize that the practice of children in disguises going from door-to-door asking for food or money (not so common these days) is a well known traditional Halloween custom and goes hand in hand with the spirit of Halloween. The earliest record of this particular practice was recorded in Scotland during the late 1890s. Yes folks, if you are reading this post, none of you would have been born yet at the time. It has been a heck of a long time since then and was first introduced into America during the early 1910s.

How does your party disguise or your kid's disguise look like? Have you decided to make the costume yourself or opted to buy one readily made at the costume store in the local mall?  If your desperate for ideas, check out the video below for some ideas. They were voted for a reason you know? :)
