Final Fantasy 13-2 gift for X360 owners

Are you an Xbox360 owner? Do you like FF13? Well if you do,chances are your gonna get ff13-2 and SquareEnix will try to sweeten the deal for those who aren't planning on getting the game. Reported by  Andriasang , FF13-2 comes bundled with (off all things), a tabletop calendar filled with FF13-2 artwork and tastefully printed in X360 green. Does this count as a gift to tempt players to buy the game? I dunno. All I know is there aren't any news for PS3 owners getting anything from the game's PS3 version. So, + 1 for x360 owners?

Documentary : Japan, The strange country.

I stumbled upon this video which was a final year thesis project made by students from a university in Japan. It tells of the success of Japan as a global economy but also that its not without its own strange facts. I won't spoil anything further. Non-native Japanese speakers will understand this video because it is narrated in English. Enjoy the video and marvel at how strange Japan really is.

Introduction into the Blogosphere

Hola everyone,so I've basically tried running a blog for a little over a week or so now and things have been pretty smooth for me so far. So I thought I'd write up a little something to sum up my experience of running a blog up till now.

Before the creation of gitaotaku

I had wanted to create a blog for quite some time now but being the worry wart that I am, many times my inspiration to write got dampened with negative thoughts like, "Who wants to read about your day and how you stepped on dog poo on the way back from home in the middle of a heavy rain fall?" or other things like "Sure, you can write plenty now, but what happens when your creativity dries up like a prune left out in the sun for too long?"

That is why before I even contemplated running a personal blog, I knew I had to gain more knowledge of what a blog is.

Info searching ( and a little bit of soul searching too)

Many of us have things which we start but not necessarily complete. There are also people who hate that they couldn't finish the things they started. I am both. Many times in the past I've eagerly picked something up,like  a new hobby, a new book or even a new musical instrument only to have them left out in the corner of my room somewhere and completely forgotten.

I didn't want that to happen to my blog so I spent nearly a month searching up what a blog is, what kind of blog should I run, what a blog demands from its author and whether I can keep up with those demands or not. Naturally, I had a lot of research on my plate and since researching for info is hardly seen as fun, but it was a necessity so I just suck it up and got down to business.

Getting the info I need
I solved all my problems mainly from reading the blogs which I like (Their listed on my blogroll which should be located on the right bar on my blog). Learning how they do what they did and trying to write a few practice posts just to get a feel for writing.

While searching (and reading countless blogs run by other people), I re-discovered an innate passion for writing which I had previously thought was all but locked away in the corners of my brain. I cannot right artistically like Shakespeare but I can write well enough to express what I feel to others. And I love doing so.

Getting on blogspot and gitaotaku

Blogspot's service was a no-brainer as it was introduced to me by a few friends and I have had a chance to poke around with the settings for sometime. It was pretty much a pick up and run sorta thing when I started posting as I was familiar with the interface of the system.

I picked the name "Gitaotaku" from the combination of the Japanese pronounciation of the word "guitar" or "gita" and also "otaku" because I love all playing my guitar and also all things anime, manga and Japanese culture. After spending a few moons considering my name, I feel that having the word otaku serves no justice to me because eventhough I started loving Japanese culture from watching anime, I have developed that liking to encompass the entire japanese culture and its traditions. Which means I now like Japan for Japan, not because it is an anime spamming country.

Finishing touches

I want to see where this blog takes me in terms of developing myself. Since my blog has yet to have any specific focus on the content, I can choose to blog about everything that I love in life.( Don't worry, you will NEVER see anything regarding content deemed not suitable for the general masses. Yeah, you know what I'm talking about).

I hope my readers can have enjoyable experiences with me as I share my thoughts, views, reviews, gossip on the latest happenings in the world. The only reason I blog is for you,the reader and for your entertainment and amusement.
